Shapiro-McCormick Young Woman Leader Award
Nomination Criteria
This honor is awarded to a young woman who has distinguished herself as a leader who is invested in achieving greater equality for women. To be eligible, a nominee must currently be a sophomore or junior in high school and in good academic standing.

The Shapiro-McCormick Young Woman Leader Award recognizes an exceptional young woman who:
- Advocates for girls within her school or community
- Makes a difference in the lives of young women, through philanthropy, advocacy, or other community service efforts
- Has faced obstacles and taken risks to pursue her goals despite the views of others
- Has a vision beyond her years and brought others to that vision
- Shows leadership and promise as a future leader for women’s causes

Applications for our 2012 Shapiro-McCormick Young Woman Leader Award should be postmarked no later than
March 30, 2012.
The 2012 Awards will be presented at our
Women Achievers Against the Odds breakfast in October 2012.
