	Soroptimist Honors Laurel Parker West! June 28, 2011 Our Executive Director, Laurel Parker West, will be among the Making a Difference for Women honorees at the 2011 Annual Gala held by Soroptimist International of Nassau County. The event will be held on June 28th at 6pm at Westbury Manor in Westbury.
	Homa is coming! Homa is coming! May 27, 2011 We have partnered with Rising International to raise awareness concerning the challenges faced by women widowed in Afghanistan. In June, the Women?s Fund of Long Island will be receiving Homa, an Afghan doll created by an Afghan widow who supports herself and seven children by selling her creations. Starting her journey at our women?s fund, Homa will be travelling the world and answering the question: How far can a woman go? 		Partners in Philanthropy Dinner Thursday, September 8, 2011 Help us celebrate our new partnership with the Terian Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Rallye Motors, by joining us as we co-present the Partners in Philanthropy Dinner at the Creek Club in Locust Valley. This dinner follows the Terian Foundation?s 3rd annual charity golf outing. All proceeds will be used by the Terian Foundation and the Women?s Fund of Long Island to help women and children in our communities. $250 per ticket.
		fotofoto works...for women September 2, 2011 WFLI has partnered with the fotofoto gallery in Huntington to present a new group photography exhibition. All proceeds from the sale of photographs will be donated by the artists to support our grantmaking programs for non-profits in Nassau and Suffolk serving women and girls.
